For those of you wanting to find a central location to visit this part of Canada, Maplewood Acres is a perfect choice.

Montreal can be easily accessed by commuter train so dealing with the traffic and unfamiliar areas of a major city doesn’t have to put a damper on your visit. Dorion train station is a 20-minute car ride from the campground and a 50-minute train ride drops you off at the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadians. From there all of Montreal’s many attractions (The Casino, the La Ronde 6 Flags Park, Downtown shopping areas, Old Montreal) are within easy access. The tourist information and tour departure centre are a short walk from the train station.

Ottawa is an 80-minute drive and this city offers a multitude of attractions for visitors including the Parliament buildings, Science & Technology and Natural Sciences museums. Shopping and numerous other attractions can be found in this major city.

The City of Cornwall is the closest larger urban centre to our campground and is located 35 km to the west. There you will find major shopping centres with many of the well known national chains being present. There are also many attractions to be found such as the Cornwall Motor Speedway and the Mohawk Casino in Akwesasne is only 12 kilometres into the U.S. from the border at Cornwall.

Eastern Ontario offers many other exciting opportunities such as golfing, fishing, boating and the “best freshwater scuba diving in the world”. Upper Canada Village and other attractions such as go-karting and water slides are also within short driving distance. You can find details of all local and nearby attractions below.
